The story

Why I stopped handing out mouthpieces

The clinic conversation always ran the same way. A couple would come in, one of them exhausted, the other embarrassed. Do anti-snoring wristbands actually work?

For positional snoring — the kind that gets loud when you roll onto your back — a biosensor wristband works because it interrupts the position rather than the airway. It listens for the snore, then delivers a cue small enough not to wake you but big enough to make you shift. It is not a treatment for sleep apnea, and nothing sold over the counter is.

Is the Sleep Connection wristband better than a mouthpiece?
